Lead - Product Development

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Lead - Product Development will report to the Manager - Product Development. This position will work in Desktop or Enterprise products in our India R&D center in Mohali.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Product Development Lead you will significantly contribute to the analysis, design & development of features, creation of accurate work plans and implementing parts of the feature for major product releases. You are expected to bring technical expertise to all discussions and help the product team make sound technical decisions. You must be able to understand requirements, understand existing features, design and architect solutions and lead a group of engineers in making the engineering effort a success story. You would be responsible for building, managing and growing the R&D team; providing the leadership to the team; driving engineering excellence; and establishing a strong relationship with the peers. You will have opportunity to learn and implement both existing and new technologies, especially C++, VC++, Win32SDK, Java and Multithreaded programming on Win, UNIX or MAC OS platform.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Skills & Experience:
  • BE/BTech/MCA from premier institute with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Strong design and programming skills in C++/VC++, Win32SDK, Java and Multithreaded programming on Windows, UNIX or MAC OS
  • Hands on experience on atleast one of the following core technologies: PostScript/ Image Processing/ Fonts/XML/CORBA/Multithreaded/Event-driven programming
  • Hands on experience on creating and implementing HLD & LLD; reviewing product architecture
  • Good understanding of object oriented design and knowledge of product life cycles and associated issues
  • Experienced in managing a team of developers and must have been through at least one full product cycle as a development lead
  • The candidate must have a strong technical background and product delivery experience; demonstrated passion for building and growing teams;
  • Proficiency in problem recognition, forward thinking, creativity, and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in interpersonal and written communications
  • Recognized as a leader in technology
  • Desire/initiative/ability to learn more advanced technical and design concepts
  • Proven leadership and management ability; understanding of team-building concepts and motivating factors for technical professionals.
  • Successful demonstration of sensitivity and commitment to business issues and problems.
  • Exposure to publishing industry would be an added advantage.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR a Master's degree in Engineering or Management from reputable institutions is required.
