QA Manager, Test Automation and API/XDK Testing
Responsibilities:- Lead a team of software engineers who are dedicated for test automation for various projects
- Prepare a test automation strategy and set the goals for the team
- Guide the team technically and professionally in achieving the success on set goals
- Ensure the automated test suite reflects the pass/fail criteria of manual testing
- Prepare and follow test automation development lifecycle model similar to normal product development lifecycle
- Ensure the automation framework is well maintained and kept up to date
- Achieve the goal of zero-touch automation in a phase-wise planning to reduce the test execution cycle time for build acceptance testing and functional regression testing
- Lead a team of QA engineers who are dedicated for API/XDK testing and some of white-box activities
- Project planning and resource allocation in conjunction with the QA director and other QA managers.
- Developing right technical and professional skills in the team
- Facilitate the team for interaction with other teams and forums to acquire more knowledge with respect to product, domain, technology, test tools and customer issues
- Mentoring the team for high productivity, high output and for keeping high motivation level
- Making team’s contribution value-added and visible to other stakeholders in the project and across departments
- Monitoring of defects and work with development teams in getting them resolved.
- Planning and procuring equipments and tools required for the teams
- Lead the team in managing the various phases of test engineering projects such as initiation, planning, execution, control and closure.
Requirements:
- BS/BE/BTech/MCA/ME/MTech with minimum of 8 years of experience.
- 8 to 10 years experience in QA or software development with more than 2 years experience managing a test automation and white-box testing teams
- Should possess good people and project management skills.
- Must have a strong record of delivering projects on schedule.
- Require excellent communication skills
- Familiarity or working experience testing QuarkXPress, XTensions etc.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of test automation tools such as SilkTest, EggPlant, and other performance measurement tools, etc.
- Good exposure on testing software and hardware products.
- Has working knowledge and understanding of C/C++ programming languages, apple scripts, etc.
- Familiar with software industry test automation technologies, strategies and methodologies
- Has excellent communication skills, must be able to articulate the technical direction, convey issues outside and within the team, and educate team members.
- Willing to pose difficult questions and issues to both his team members and managers.
- Confident public speaker.
- Worked closely with PM and R&D on previous projects and has a good rapport with these teams.
- Cross-platform expertise such as Windows and Mac.
- User level knowledge of at least two major Quark products preferably
