Senior Software Engineer - Product Development

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Senior Software Engineer - Product Development will report to the Lead / Manager - Product Development. This position will work in Desktop or Enterprise products in our India R&D center in Mohali.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Sr Software Engineer - Product Development you will significantly contribute to the analysis, design & development of features, creation of accurate work plans and implementing parts of the feature for major product releases. You are expected to bring technical expertise to all discussions and help the product team make sound technical decisions. You must be able to understand requirements, understand existing features, design and architect solutions. You will have opportunity to learn and implement both existing and new technologies, especially C++, Java or .NET on Win, UNIX or MAC OS platform

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Skills & Experience:
  • BE/BTech/MCA from premier institute with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Strong design and programming skills in C++/VC++, Java, Win32SDK and Multithreaded programming on Windows, UNIX or MAC OS
  • Knowledge of XML, XSL, CORBA, Case tools, SOAP, QuarkXPress/XTensions is preferred.
  • Strong ability to understand existing code and create quality code from design models/documents
  • Good understanding of object oriented design and knowledge of product life cycles and associated issues. Must have been through at least one full product cycle as a development lead
  • The candidate must have a strong technical background and product delivery experience
  • Proficiency in problem recognition, forward thinking, creativity, and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in interpersonal and written communications
  • Desire/initiative/ability to learn more advanced technical and design concepts
  • Successful demonstration of sensitivity and commitment to business issues and problems.
  • Preferable should have programming experience in MAC OSX, QuarkXPress, XTension development
  • Exposure to publishing industry would be an added advantage.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, and a Master's degree in Engineering or Management from reputable institutions are required.
